Make and Listen

This is my first time joining in on the Make&Listen Along for I am finally starting a new project! I recently knitted a hat for myself, although easy as it was I kept making mistakes. Now onto some fingerless gloves and a hat for the boys which I hope to have done before this wonderful fall season is over (fingers crossed!). Not too long ago we were walking through a forest on a search for some goodies to add to the Nature Exchange of which we are very excited to participate in, and I realized that although I had the convenience and comfort of fingerless gloves for this work, the boys did not. It was due time to make something similar for the boys and after much searching they unanimously decided on this pattern.

There is a pile of books waiting for my attention as I try to finally-with-no-excuses get back into art making and make those dreams a reality! Etsy maybe and art gallery store!

Today as I crocket and learn ‘no-foundation single crochet’ and joining in the round without a gap, the boys are busy listening to a classic Bare Naked Ladies Album and playing Life while the scent of rice and quinoa cooking fills the room.

A good day to be.

If you have something to share that you are listening to as you are making share along here!

  1. What great making going on there! Love that hat!
Someone is going to be very lucky indeed to get those nature goodies!
Happy to see yarn in your world!
It has been forever since I picked up a crochet hook! Hum… might be a good way to switch things up while I work away on those leg warmers! What are you crocheting?
Thanks for joining in this week! Love to see your making!
Oh… and yes! yes! to a shop! 😉

  2. We have really been enjoying collecting for the exchange and it has brought us to places we do not normally go which is so wonderful! Love the new blog too if you hadn’t noticed! 😉

I love crocheting as a change from knitting as you only have one loop to deal with. It just so happens that the Minecraft inspired fingerless gloves for the boys are crochet and I learned a new technique – well two – to do them. The hat is knitted. I hope I can get it all done and the boys were already ‘disguising’ who gets the first glove! My motherly instincts are getting better all the time and I quickly responded that neither of them gets one until I finish two gloves so they can each have one to start!

I hope to join in the creating more often – so much to create so little time and the idea of Etsy and the AGNS store is so enticing. I am loving Etsy!!!

  3. Love to hear that about the nature exchange. That is awesome!
Totally missed that the gloves were crochet. I don’t think I have ever seen a crochet glove pattern. I clicked over to look but missed that detail. Fun!
LOL motherly instincts! Well done. I would have never thought of that! That will be good motivation to get them done. In the mean time they can just use the one glove on their dominate collecting hand! Ha! Love that!

    • Haha! So true I have to say regarding motherly instincts. Thank goodness the wisdom part of that has kicked in. It’s just like a job (but the best kind!) where the longer you do it the better and wiser you get. I had no wisdom to start and sometimes wondered how others did it! I have to say I smiled at myself for the glove solution.
